The CSA is over but the farm season is most definitely not. With two farmers’ markets each week plus wholesale orders plus a LOT of roots still patiently waiting to be harvested (rutabaga, parsnips, carrots, and more), we’re still plenty busy! If you’re interested in getting our veggies, you have a few options. You can, of course, visit us at market. John is in Portland’s Monument Square every Wednesday from 7am-2pm, and Sonya is in the Bridgton Community Center (behind the Magic Lantern Theater) every Saturday from 9am-1pm. Some of our produce is available for sale at Square Root Natural Foods here in Poland and at Axis Natural Foods in Auburn. Also many of our CSA members have opted to have their e-mail addresses added to the veggie availability e-mail that we send out to our wholesale customers early each week. Folks can then place an order with us and either pick their order up here at the farm on Tuesdays or have them delivered to their door for a small fee. We tried this system out for the first time last week, and it worked well, with about half a dozen folks placing orders and picking them up here at the farm. If you’d like to join in, just send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and ask to be added to the e-mail list.
With the ends of the garlic beds plus various other things waiting to be mulched, we once again put out the call for leaves. The chilly wind that’s been streaming through these parts for the past couple of days has taken most of the leaves down. Keep us in mind, please, before you take those leaves to the dump! Bring them to the farm anytime, and if need be, we can come and get them, too.
