Howdy, howdy! This post is gonna be pretty bare bones…Claire and I are doing it all this week while Sonya hangs out with little Ezra at Maine Med. The little guy is doing well and should be home, we hope, in a few days. Many, many thanks to a couple of CSA workshare members for their help during this busy time: Abby Tusing helped out for a few hours on Friday morning, and Donna Duval worked with us this morning to get the harvest in. Also, thanks again to Tonya Watson for taking over the Friday CSA share delivery to Bates in Lewiston…everything seemed to go smoothly this past Friday!
The Summit Springs Farm CSA share for week #13 includes the following:
2 lb bag of potatoes
1 lb bag of peppers
1 lb bag of green beans
2 lb bag of carrots
1 bunch of kale
1 sweet onion
1 bulb of garlic
1 pint of husk cherries
CHOOSE ONE: 1 lb bag of broccoli -OR- 2 lb bag of zucchini and/or summer squash -OR- 2 kohlrabi
Up to 6 lbs of beefsteak and heirloom tomatoes
At this point, we’ve decided to postpone the next farm potluck that was scheduled for this Saturday, 9/17….there’s just too damn much going on! We may try to host it the next Saturday, 9/24. Keep an eye on this blog and/or the farm’s page on Facebook for updates. Finally, here’s a few more photos of The New Addition on his birthday!
