It ain’t local, but it’s family

Pictured is a bowl of sunny bliss that arrived the other day in a nondescript cardboard box all the way from Florida.  The contents:  starfruit, oranges, and grapefruit gathered from my Aunt Merry and Uncle Tom’s backyard in St. Petersburg and lovingly shipped north.  Just what we need to brighten up these past few dark-n-stormy winter days!  Also, Merry is back in the blogosphere and has been “on fire” for the past few weeks reporting on all sorts of things, always from a foodie angle:  the rebellions in the Middle East, quirky Florida fruit stands and eateries, the UK’s National Potato Day, the eating habits of Chicago’s newly elected mayor, etc….  Check out the Food Museum Blog!
